Country Coordinator x3 (Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda)

Key Responsibilities:
As the Country Coordinator for Kenya, Tanzania, or Uganda, you will report to the Regional Director and be responsible for the following:
1. Program Management and Oversight
- Plan, implement, and monitor programs: Ensure that all projects align with organizational goals and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with field teams: Provide guidance and support to ensure effective program delivery.
- Evaluate and report on programs: Track progress, assess impact, and adjust programs based on feedback and findings.
2. Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute country strategies: Align national plans with the organization’s objectives and long-term vision.
- Identify opportunities for program expansion: Assess local contexts and identify areas for growth and impact.
- Build relationships with stakeholders: Engage with government bodies, partners, civil society, and communities to foster collaboration.
3. Financial and Administrative Management
- Manage budgets: Oversee financial planning, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance: Adhere to local laws, donor requirements, and organizational policies regarding finances, procurement, and reporting.
4. Donor and Partner Engagement
- Cultivate donor relationships: Maintain strong communication with donors and funding partners to ensure continued support.
- Write proposals and secure funding: Lead efforts to develop proposals and secure funding for new and ongoing projects.
- Develop partnerships: Engage with local and international NGOs, UN agencies, and government entities to foster collaboration.
5. Advocacy and Representation
- Represent the organization: Act as the primary spokesperson and advocate for Thrive Africa Network in the country.
- Advocate for policy changes: Work with local governments and stakeholders to influence policy changes that align with the organization’s mission.
- Raise awareness: Promote Thrive Africa Network’s programs and impact through various platforms, including media and public forums.
6. Team Leadership and Capacity Building
- Lead and mentor teams: Provide leadership and build the capacity of local staff and volunteers.
- Encourage teamwork and collaboration: Foster a supportive work environment that promotes innovation and collective problem-solving.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A graduate-level degree in a relevant area (e.g., development studies, social work, education, psychology), or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in facilitation and training skills.
- Strong knowledge of current donor and funding trends in both private and public sectors.
- Demonstrate experience engaging with civil society organizations and community-based organizations.
- Hands-on experience managing community development programs, with a focus on youth peer education and youth development.
- Proven experience in managing and executing operational budgets effectively.
- At least two years of experience managing youth peer education programs, including overseeing program stakeholders and community initiatives.
- A passionate leader with a deep understanding of youth empowerment, community engagement, and sustainable development.
- Excellent networking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a regional team.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Excellent IT skills, with competence in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
